Sorry to those who actually looked at the comment on my blog yesterday. There was a comment left by someone from Japan. I couldn't read the name, it was in Japanese. It looked like they left some URLs, but I never even clicked on them... well hope you guys didn't either, I was told that it was some nasty web sites! I deleted the comment, so those who are now curious.. sorry , too late :-)
Steph had a really, really, really good time at the sleepover birthday party with the older girls. It was up north in the middle of nowhere.. as I drove up to get her today, I went over the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, passed Sleep Hollow Lake, passed Murderers Creek, and drove by a mom and her daughter standing on their small brick stoop in their bathrobes, practicing fishing.. yes, fishing.. casting and reeling em in.. on their front lawn..
No school this week, the kids have some playdates planned as well as soccer, dance and gymnastics practices.. it will be nice to not have to get up at 6am!
Went to the final showing of RENT today to sell a bunch of CDs and deliver some collages that the cast ordered. The show was very, very good... sold out for most of the 9 shows.. here's a picture, you can see more here: www.kcassens.smugmug.com/theater

OK, I'm back. It's 10:30 at night and I just got a phone call from Stephanie. She is at a sleepover party with a bunch of 10, 11 adn 12 year olds (she is 9) and is about 45 minutes away. She better not call and want me to come get her in the middle of the night. One of the girls from her gym, who lives north of the gym (we live south of the gym) invited her to a birthday sleep over. Steph just called from her friends cell phone to say hi. They are having a ball..
Yesterday Steph and Dilynn went to the annual start of the softball season indoor clinic that is run by the Rhinebeck Varsity softball team.... or should I say the Rhinebeck State Champion softball team. Yes, they won it all last year and are pretty excited to be starting this year. Steph loves softball now, she didn't love it on Thursday, but she did well at the clinic and had a great time so now she loves it again. only problem is that she has moved up to the next higher level in gymnastics and is expected to be at the gym 4 days a week... doesn't leave much time for softball.... Dilynn loves softball as well and did great last night, she is in the major leagues, Steph is in the minor leagues so won't get to play together.
Chris has started spring soccer and his favorite, baseball has started as well.
Chris also played in the All-County Band a few weeks ago. He tried out in the winter and was very excited to make the band (he plays French Horn). Since the kids that made it are all over the county, they just practiced at their own school with their music teacher and the other kids who made it from their school (only 2 band kids from our small school) and then Friday, the day before the concert, they practiced from 4:00 - 8:00. Then they went back at 9am Sat, the day of the performance and practiced all day up until the performance.
When Chris came home Friday after his first practice. He was funny. He was AMAZED at how good the band sounded. He said, "I knew we'd sound good, but I didn't think we'd be THAT good". Let's see if I can find a good photo..
Here is the band.. you can't see Chris in this photo..
Here he is getting on stage..
One more..
On MOnday I went to the elementary school to take pictures of the 5th graders doing "Literary Performances" for the 2nd graders. Then they read to them... guess who Derek is supposed to be??
More tomorrow I hope, have a great Sunday!

So for the first time ever, we had a videographer at the gymnastics meet! It was Nana, and it was Nana's first time video taping anything. She did a very good job.
And then Christopher, who is our resident video editing expert, edited the video and created a little (short) movie of parts of Steph's competition. He did a great job too!
You will see all of her bars routine. You will see all of her beam routine (although just her head for a moment :-) She did have an uncharacteristic fall off of the beam which threw Nana off for a minute. And we kind of missed 3/4 of her floor routine, but you can see her last tumbling run.
Don't blink during her vault or you will miss it :-) So here it is..

Snow, snow, snow.
We didn't get as much at others.. but sure got enough. Early dismissal on Tues, no school Wed, no school Thurs, no school today. More snow coming tonight. Livesey's didn't have power Wed and Thurs. They came over here. Kids had a ball playing in the snow together all day. Alex was able to work from here. Jeff was able to work from home too. Power came back on Thurs night.
The 4 cousins made a video. It is silly but funny. I will post it when Chris is done editing.
Went sledding with the neighbors this morning.
Very sad morning for Steph. She and her gymnastics teammates have been working very, very hard preparing for the State championship gymnastics meet that was supposed to be tomorrow in Utica. We were heading out today and staying over night. First time ever, a state championship meet was cancelled. Will be reschedule. Steph was very unhappy. "states" is all she has been thinking, talking, breathing, eating for 3 weeks. But she got over it much more quickly than I thought she was going to!
The Allen family has been traveling lately.. they stopped to see the South Carolina Ryans'. Here are soem pics of Mikey, Matthew and Connor. Looks like they had a great time!

Valentines Day party in Steph's class tomorrow..
Been taking lots of pictures and making lots of collages for people..
Here are some shots of our high school varsity cheerleaders and basketball game. The cheerleaders asked if I'd come take some pictures..
