It's 11:30pm and I just finished cooking 3 pounds of bacon..
OK let's start at the beginning. This morning I went into Steph's class and glued lots of eyes, ears, hair, hats, on to puppets. I did get to see the video of one of the puppet show practices, it is SO CUTE! The Kindergarteners are the chorus.. Steph's puppet is a monkey.
Speakign of Steph, her classroom is on the second floor... gym, art, music, lunch and recess are on the first floor, oh and puppet rehearsals too. Guess what broke at the school today? The elevator. She's bumping down the stairs on her butt and crawling up the stairs..
After puppet repair, I came home and cleaned the kids rooms (boy did they need it!).
Then after dropping the girls at gymnastics (Steph was doing "strength" and watching), Chris and I finished the "hands on" piece of his Expo project.. we glued a bunch of little pieces of green pipe cleaners (the corn), Chris painted yellow corn on the green stalks, and we glued together a red barn.
After we picked up Steph and had dinner, I met 3 other women for a meeting, a good meeting, where my friend and I turned over the responsibility of the "Sally Foster" fundraiser to two other good natured willing moms... yay!
When I got home I had to watch 24 (does anybody out there watch? anybody? anybody?) it's so good!
So, then at around 10pm I discovered a note that Jeff left me before he fell sound asleep (still recovering from a long week of golf :-). The note said "Chris needs 400 paper/plastic cups for his Expo at school tomorrow. Hmmm wonder how many days he's know this before mentioning it?! Guess I'm shopping tomorrow morning!
Finally, it was time to make the bacon... After many trays of bacon.. I can tell you for sure that the microwave is by far the best way to make bacon! (and I think I have bacon grease on my contact lens)..
So I found some pictures from February. You might (or might not) remember me telling you about how Chris' class had a "macaw indian potlatch" back in Feb. Well, Chris was the storyteller. His teacher sent me some pictures because believe it or not I did not have my camera! (something to do with "mom, you are so embarassing with that camera!").
Here's the story teller:
Have a great Tues!

It's pouring outside.. thunder and lightning... I'll take this over a snowstorm that's for sure!
Jeff is home, the kids were thrilled to see him this morning. They had a great time golfing in Myrtle Beach. Now.... let the baseball begin!
Busy week ahead. Softball and baseball practices begin. Soccer practices and games begin! Steph's class is putting on a puppet show severl times this week.. for the younger classes, for the parents, for some groups in the community (seniors). And I am officially, the stage setter upper, as well as the puppet fixer-uper. Tomorrow I'll be in teh classroom glueing tails, paws, trunks and eyes back on puppets. They took a beating during rehearsals. Tomorrrow I guess they will figure out how to get Steph in and out of the puppet stage while on crutches.. Chris also is presenting his "expo project" at school this week (to students and parents). He did Illinois. Sounds like they put a lot of work into it.. a report, a presentation, a hands on project (which is a pig farm that is 1/2 complete on the dining room table.. I'll take a picture tomorrow.) And they can bring in a food from that state to serve while presenting. At first Chris was SURE that JEff was going to make his famous twice baked potatoes for his expo presentation, yes enough for about 100 people... well, lucky for Jeff, I convinced him that bacon (yes, from the pig farm) and corn were a better choice. THEN Aunt Chrisie (who was in a very... creative mood after having lunch with Alex on Saturday) thought of a better idea. Bacon and POPCORN. So the popcorn has been purchased..I will be cooking lots and lots of bacon some time tomorrow (in the oven, not on the stove!).
Today Steph had religion in the morning.. she's getting tired of saying "no, I didn't break my foot, it's a heel injury". Chris did LOTS of homework and french horn practice this morning and then had his friend over to play. Then Jeff took Chris and his friend to baseball.. Chris got to coach the little kids for a while, he LOVED that. Steph and I met Chrisie and Dilynn at the high school to see the high school play (Copacabana). It was good, we knew a lot of girls in the play so that made it more fun.
THEN when we got home.. I had to give Steph a bath.. I thought I was past bathing my kids, they both take showers.. but not with a cast on. Had to double bag it and hang it out of the tub. fun fun fun !!
:-)
OK, last story.. what about this:
So, Thursday morning was a great morning. Chris was up REALLY early. When he crawled into bed wtih me I said Chris, I need to sleep more, can you get yourself in the shower. Well he was in a great mood and said, you stay in bed mom.. I'll get showered, dressed and I'll have Steph make us breakfast, ha! How nice of him. So sure enough, they kept telling me to stay in bed, Steph made waffles. They even suprised me with waffles in bed! It was very cute. Then Chris said Steph wanted to make their lunches. I told him I'd make the sandwiches. He said "no, Steph wants to make the sandwiches too, you stay in bed". OK if you say so.. So they did it, well.. she did it.. and he played messenger and he cheered her on. When did get up, I had little to do other than drive them to school. I coudl get used to that! Steph did inform me that she did not want to make lunches any more. But this is the note she put in Chris' lunch/snack box.
Oh, and the funny part is, after all that lunch making. BOTH of them forgot they were bringing lunch and they both bought lunch and came home with the sandwiches Steph made!
Have a great Monday!

Had to meet at the town hall at 9am. Dropped gimpy girl off to hang out with Derek... Perfect weather for walking around town. Today we dropped off brown paper bags with notes on them asking people to fill them with food and leave them outside of their home next weekend when we will come pick them up, sort the food and bring it to two different church food pantries.
Then we picked up Steph and Derek and brought them back here to play. Steph then got a call inviting her to her friend Casey's house.. so we took her there. Chris and Derek got a call inviting them across the street to play D and D.. so they went. Then Chrisie and Alex showed up with Dilynn and her friend Casey (a different Casey) who were at "Babysitters class " all day long. So I went to get Steph and she came back to play with Dilynn and Casey. Chris did some homework (he has a lot!). Then Chris had to be an altar server at 5pm Mass.. so we had to send the Livesey's home..
Tomorrow is full of religious Ed, playdates, baseball and possibly going to the High School play.. OH, and more homework!
AND Jeff gets home tonight... yay!
Have a great Sunday!

Here it is:
Yep, she's in a cast.. We went back to the doctor today. She has been off of her foot for 5 weeks now and no signs of improvment. We talked to the doctor about other options that people has suggested, he said they were all good forms of treatment, but not for this condition. Since just eliminating sports didn't do it, he said we need to get all the weight off of her foot for a month.. so she's on crutches. Luckily she has a very strong upper body from gymnastics so she's doing OK on the crutches. But she is starting to get bruised on her sides from the crutches so we need to get some padding. She also gets to ride the elevator at school, so that is cool.. but we'll see how cool all of this is in a week or so.. I'm sure she is going to get tired of it! Let's just hope that this fixes the problem!
Chris has his friend Avi over. The weather was great, they were outside for over 2 hours. They were playing some make believe game that involved fighting off invisible criminals.. that had a blast.
And tomorrow I will tell you about this:

Chris is really, really happy... can you see why?
This is why:
At the new stadium. And where did we get these? Well, many of you probably remember my high school friend Maria LaFonte (now Grasso). Well we reconnected on facebook recently. We exachanged many, many emails trying to catch up (it's been 15 years we think!), and we're still sending emails... so I mentioned in one of my emails that Chris loves the Mets. Maria's son and husband love the Mets too, and Maria's company has season tickets... and that's the story of why Chris is the happiest boy the the world tonight. Thanks again Maria!
So what else is going on.. well.. tomorrow I will tell you my breakfast in bed story. But for today, I'll tell you about Jump Rope for Heart. The school does this every year to raise money for the American heart Association. It's right after school and the kids ask sponsors to give them money to sponsor them in this jumping event. they do all kinds of fun jumping as you'll see below. We have done it for many years and it's always lots of fun. Chris was at his art portfolio class so didn't make it. Which is too bad, he would have loved it. Steph's jumper isn't working well so she turned the rope and jumped one footed. Derek participated and Dilynn, who is no longer in the elementary school, came along to help as well..
they started out by warming up doing the "something.. something.. cha cha.." I forget what it's called, it was a fun dance, they loved it..
Here they are doing the dance. Steph is in red, next to the kid in orange at the front of the photo
And last but not least... Princess Dilynn!

Tonight Chris and Ryan had boy scouts. Ryan came here after school and they played all things baseball until it was time to go to boy scouts..
Chris is taking this boy scout responsibility seriously.. he came home with a list of dates and things to do memorized. This weekend is scouting for food. On Saturday the scouts will leave brown bags with notes stapled to them on peoples doorsteps. The note asks residents to fill the bag with food for a food pantry and leave it out on the door step the following Saturday. So next Saturday we will be picking up bags of food.
We also have roadside cleanup day coming up as well as a "Camporee".. Chris is excited :-)
Steph.. well.. she couldn't sleep tonight. Well, you don't have to sleep Steph but you have to stay in bed.. but I can't stay in bed. yes, you can stay in bed, no, my head keeps popping up, I just can't stay in bed.... AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Girls are coming over tomorrow night.. I have the duct tape ready so I can tape her head to the bed tomorrow, ha!
Happy Wednesday!

In case you were not aware.. mis-matched socks are very "in".
There is a website called littlemissmatched.com they sell socks in sets of 3. All of them coordinate, but they to not match. Steph thought this was SO VERY COOL. She brought in al the socks she got from this website for "share" (show and tell) today. If you want to order from this site.. let me know, I'll look up my coupon code for ya!
Excerpt from mornings with Steph:
"Steph, please get dressed" "OK mom"... 5 minutes later "Steph are you dressed yet?" "not yet mom" "OK, time to get dressed" "OK mom"... 2 minutes later "Steph what are you doing?" "I'm recording my voice in this spy voice recorder, listen it's really cool!" "Steph, you're supposed to be getting dressed" "oh, yeah, OK, I will" 5 minutes later " Steph are you dressed?!?!?" "almost, I have my pajamas off"..
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Wednesday we are having a ladies night out.. errr.. well.. in... for Ruthie's birthday. Chrisie and 3 others are coming here for drinky-poos and snacks after the kids are in bed (they better cooperate!). Should be fun!
Today, my partner in crime, Catherine, and I met with the sales rep from "Sally Foster" the fundraiser our PTA does. Catherine does the Sally Foster fundraiser with me as well as Brownies with me.. she is great to work with. We went to the Sally Foster reps house convinced we were not going to do any more fundraisers!!! No matter how good a sales job she did... Well... after listening, and the fact that we are turning Sally Foster over to 2 other moms.. we let ourselves be convinced we should sell Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough and those Entertainment books... don't want to have too much time on our hands! We did get to sample the cookies.. they are GOOD!
24 is on now, can't miss it!!!! Love that show.. gotta go!
Have a geat Tuesday!

Today we had to get up really early which is no big deal for Chris.. but a pretty big deal for Steph.. she is not a good morning person. Chris wakes up smiling saying "I love you mom..". Steph.. quite the opposite. And to make it worse, she woke up with a sore throat and puffy eyes. Not sure why she had the puffy eyes.. maybe realated to the sore throat. Her throat was very red and so sore that she did not eat her daily morning 2 waffles (she is a very good breakfast eater). When I suggested that maybe we skip the gymnastics meet for the day.. well, let's just say she rejected that idea. But since I had to give her Motrin for her foot, her throat promptly stopped hurting aw well.. we'll see what shape she is in tomorrow morning.
So, Chris has to be at the American Legion at 7:00am, so we were up, dressed and out the door before 7:00.. Chris was very much looking forward being a waiter at the pancake breakfast. He has been a waiter before at the spagetti dinner and had a blast. And this was the same, he just loves serving tables.. could come in handy some day for covering college expenses :-) After all the pancakes were served, a friend's mom took Chris and two other boys back to her house for some dungeons and dragons...
After drop off, Steph and I made our way down to Poughkeepsie for a gymnastics meet. Steph's teammates did very well... Steph is being very good about sitting and watching.. much better than I would be doing watching a bunch of kids get medals that I'm sure she knows she would be getting if she were competing.. I'm impressed..
I had to drag them out to buy milk tonight.. so I bought them a bag of potato chips which was a treat for them..
Have I mentioned I love my dining room table??!!
It's supposed to be very, very cold out for the next few days.. yuk.
Here is another Florida shot..
OK.. one more..
have a great Monday!

Here is a photo I took down in Florida.. a little Photoshopped :-)
Well I'm off to bed, we have a very busy day tomorrow. Chris is going to work at a pancake breakfast at 7am. It's a fundraiser for their 5th grade Whale Watch trip. Steph and I will then head down to Poughkeepsie for another gymnastics meet that she is not competing in..
Today Steph went with her friend and her friends family to a childrens Opera, Little Red Riding Hood. She loved it. I guess Little Red had red converse sneakers.. Chris had baseball clinic tonight..
Here's another one from Florida:
Have a great Sunday!
