Jeff and Chris' fall baseball team won on Saturday. The boys played a great game! They often struggle during "Fall Baseball". At this time of year they play against other towns in our area and many of the usual baseball players take the fall off for other sports like soccer. So we have been known to play with 8 players. Last Saturday they were prepared to play a Poughkeepsie team, who is known to be very good. But the boys played a super game, scored a bunch of runs and won! Chris (and Jeff) were very, very happy.
I missed the game though, my friend Nancy is due to have a baby in Nov so we threw her a shower on Saturday. She was almost surprised, but recognized a car as she pulled up. There were many people at the shower including 2 from Raleigh, NY and two from Burlington Vermont!! The two from Vermont, Laura and Wai, are very good friends of mine. We started IBM together and played many sports together, hung out with the same crowd, and Laura and I were even roommate's for a long time. It was great to see everyone. Laura and Wai stayed at another friends house, Sandy, overnight so I went to meet them for breakfast in the morning before they headed back to Vermont.
After breakfast, Stephanie had a soccer game that just happened to be in the same town that I was having breakfast in, so Sandy came with me to the soccer game (Jeff brought Chris and Steph). Steph's team scored 4 goals, which is a record for them.. but still didn't win, bummer.
Oh, back to Saturday... I was actually late for the baby shower because I had another photo shoot at the Perf. art center. I did promotional photos for Hamlet which will be playing soon. The photos will be in many local papers sometime soon. It's fun to do photo shoots like this. I get to know the actors and directors, and they are all easy to work with. I also get to see bits and pieces of the show.. the actors doing Hamlet were great. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks and shoot their dress rehearsal.
We went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs today. It was very, very silly and funny. I really liked it. You should all definitely go see it.
We took Steph's friend, Maddie with us to the movie. On the way home, Steph and Maddie were both making me and Chris laugh.. and scaring me a bit!! The were singing this song, that they both seemed to know. It was kind of with a Tyra Banks accent and attitude and it went like this:
Don't MAKE me snap in a 'Z' formation..
Talk to the hand..
Talk to the fist...
Hey.. you just got 'dissed'.
And of course they have the attitude head and body movements that go with it.. they should not know how to do that attitude stuff yet!!
Kids were off from school today. Steph was also out sick on Friday. I'm thinking that we will be at the doctor tomorrow, usually after her head cold starts to get better.. she winds up with an ear infection. She told me they felt clogged tonight..
Tomorrow my after school field hockey class starts... I have a lot of older girls signed up this year which is great. I usually lose them when they go to middle school which is too bad because it's the year before they start playing on the school team so it's the best time to be practicing! Steph has informed me that she will never play field hockey... :-) Oh well.. it's the same season as soccer and she loves soccer.
Here is a picture of a friend's baby who was at the baby shower on Saturday. So cute!
