Chris went to his friend's birthday party. They split into two teams and each came up with a short video, here is Chris' teams video. Chris is the tin man. Watch all the way to the end past the credits... there is a blooper at the end

Hello everyone,
Went to see a movie last night, Up in the Air with George Clooney. It was good, I liked it, but I had been told that it was REALLY GREAT! So my expectations were very high. But if you haven't seen it, go see it.. but expect a good, very good movie.. not SUPER GREAT :-)
Chris had a playdate yesterday while Steph and I headed over to the gym. I took pics of the gymnasts with all the medals they won in the last meet. HEre's Steph's group:
Chris and Dilynn had a very exciting afternoon today. All of the middle school teachers played in a volleyball tournament against each other. They charged admission and sold food and all the money will be sent to Haiti. The game was very well attended and the teachers and kids had a ball. Remember we go to a very small school so every teacher knows almost every kid. The kids all had signs and were chanting the teachers' names. The principal and superintendant played too. And I of course was the photographer. The teacher who runs the yearbook is very happy with all the photos I take of school events :-). Here's one photo, I haven't had time to process all of them yet..
Chris has 2 birthday parties to go to this weekend! Busy boy.. Steph is having the sister of one of the birthday boys over here for a sleepover so she doesn't have to hang out with all the boys at the party.
Photography business is very good these days, I have a very big backlog of orders... so better get to them.
More tomorrow! Have a great weekend!
One more photo for good luck:

So Christopher's boy scout troup has to build a sled for a klondike sled race coming up in February. Last weekend they went in search of white ash trees because that wood is very bendable. Tuesday they began the cutting and building process. I guess their goal is to make the sled all natural, no nails, hinges or anything other than trees and branches... sounds like a challange. They plan to work on it again this Saturday. Yes, I will take pictures at some point.
Richie are you back from rainy, stormy California? We need an update on your trip!
Dilynn participated in an Iron Chef contest at the middle school yesterday. There were over 100 entrants in 3 different categories (main course, side dish and dessert). The winners have their recipe added to the school lunch menu. Dilynn got one of the 3 honorable mention awards in the main course category. Way to go Dilynn!! Chris told me a few weeks ago he was going to skip this contest... right before he asked me where we keep the soup bowls :-)
Derek played basketball tonight. This is Wed night Lions club basketball (not to be confused with CYO basketball). Chris can't play Lions club because it's at the same time as religion class. Anyway, seems as if Derek is continuing with his scoring streak.. scored another basket! Way to go Derek!
And in keeping with the "what big events have I forgotten to tell you about in the last month" theme... Steph's performed in her studio's dance recital.. ballet, tap and jazz... here are a few pics (did you think I'd have a post with no pics? Have a great Thursday!

Kids went back to school today :-) Steph had gymnastics practice. Chris had scouts.. they are making a sled out of white ash trees (sorry, that's all I know about it other than they are going to race this sled at some point.. although the snow was just washed away today..). Work is very busy for Jeff, and I'm keeping busy with my photography. Had a meeting with a client today, she is very, very nice, I had a nice time chatting with her.
Well, catching up on some old news...
Dilynn was in a play back in December. It was called Little Red, Life in the Hood. They performed at our local playhouse here in Rhinebeck. Dilynn played one of the moms of Little Red (there were 3 Little Reds, 3 moms and 3 Wolves). It was very cute and funny. Dilynn played the hippie mom:
Have a great Wednesday!!

Last weekend the gym that Stephanie goes to hosted a gymnastics meet at Bard College (which luckily is less than 15 minutes from our house). There were over 500 gymnasts competing from all over NY (including Long Island). And as you can guess, that means that the parents/booster club runs the meet. It was a very, very busy, but fun weekend. We were at Bard from about 10am Friday through 7pm Sunday, we came home just to sleep... Jeff helped set up and break down the equipment.. he helped put up bars, vault, beam and lay several layers of a gymnastics floor.. (along with about 20 other guys). Like I said, fun but tiring. Steph had a ball! Not only did she do well competing, but she got to hang out with her 20 or so teammates running around the gym all weekend.

Hello everyone! It's snowing and icing and raining outside, it keeps changing. We have maybe 1/2 inch or snow, and some ice on top.. supposed to snow more tonight. Good thing we can all just stay in our PJs in the morning!
Rich? Where's your email with your guest blog? We want to hear stories of your fun times!!!!
Chris and Derek had a basketball game today, they won again! They are something like 4 - 1. Pretty good for little ole Good Shepherd basketball team!
Steph and I went to our "in house" recreational basketball this afternoon. I help coach. Steph likes it but gets very mad when the boys won't pass it to the girls! She wore her bright orange basketball shorts that Nana got her (that say "hoops" on the waitband) and her mismatched black and white socks, one was polka dot the other striped. Quite a fashion statement.
Big news for Chris this week. Last Saturday he tried out for the All-County band. And Friday he found out he made it! He really loves playing in band, he was very, very happy. Concert is March 13th...
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!
More tomorrow!

Or have you guys all given up on me?!? I'm back.. lots to tell about... I'll take it one day at a time.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, the kids have a 3 day weekend. Snow and ice on the way tomorrow.
Richie is leaving on a jet plane. Well, he left on a jet plane and is now in sunny Califoria hanging out with our cousin Alison. Hey, Rich, we need you to be a guest blogger and let us know what's going on! From what he says on Facebook sounds like he's having fun!
Chris and Derek play on the same CYO basketball team, their team was invited to play at half time of the Bard College boys basketball game. They played this afternoon, they just split their team in half and scrimmaged for 10 minutes. They had fun and played great. After they played, Chris got picked to be in a contest during a time out, he had to dress up in oversized basketball shoes and oversized shorts and shirt and then make a lay-up (Gina, that's a type of shot in basketball.. hee hee :-)). Well he won and got a Bard Basketball signed by the whole team. He was happy. Here are the pics: (Chris and Derek are both on the blue team. Derek is #31 with a red shirt under his game shirt, Chris has a white shirt under his game shirt.)
Here he is with the basketball he won:
Have a great Sunday!
